[04:31:44 PM] => Myiris: Welcome to the chat session, Mr. Bhambwani .
[04:33:12 PM] => asjadmalik : What is the effect on stock exchange after these tensions between india and Pakistan?
[04:35:14 PM] => VB : The markets ould expectedly, react in a knee jerk fashion. But past history during the Kargil war, tells us that fundamentals reign supreme ultimately. So do not panic and await buying oppourtunities.
[04:39:14 PM] => dimass1459 : Cash market has become violent. Is it true? proper stop/losses hardly work particularly @3pm onwards. Comment.
[04:40:06 PM] => VB : Volatality has gone up, substantially, especially in operator driven stocks. So your stop/losses must have a more liberal trigger points to work. Liberal trigger points should ensure that your trade is protected.
[04:43:24 PM] => deepakchinaiwala : Hello Vijay, I hear all analyst saying about stop losses and that one should keep booking profits at regular intervals. How would a small investor manage and determine these stop losses and at which levels to book profit; especially in highly volatile stocks which has high price spreads during the day. also how to determine the selling level in rising stocks?
[04:45:08 PM] => VB : Your stop/loss in case of delivery trades (rough and ready rule of the thumb) is the low on the day, you enter the trade. When the stock is rising, keep raising the stop/loss in tandem with the price appreciation. I.e, if the stock appreciates 2 per cent, raise your stop/loss by one per cent. This will protect even notional gains. As long as the stock is rising, let your profits run and dont wory about your targets.
[04:47:17 PM] => Raghuvanshi : What will the support levels for Sensex if at all falls below 3100?
[04:47:34 PM] => VB : 3040 would be the first support, below which expect 2960.
[04:48:35 PM] => Murthuza : Why would IOC want to sell stake in ONGC and GAIL?
[04:48:48 PM] => VB : It would release a lot of working capital, which is otherwise a constraint.
[04:50:08 PM] => Vedant_M : Sir, whats your reading of the RIL-IPCL deal? Is there any long-term benefits for Reliance?
[04:50:23 PM] => VB : Reliance is a major beneficiary from the buy out as it would become a monoploy in the business in the country.
[04:51:23 PM] => M.R. Patil : Where do you see the Indian economy heading for?
[04:51:36 PM] => VB : The Indian economy should bounce back from the fourth quarter of the current financial year.
[04:52:37 PM] => Mathew : Do you expect a major rebound if the war doesn't take place?
[04:52:51 PM] => VB : Yes, the market will see a sharp recovery, possibly upto 3400 levles, if the war is averted.
[04:53:21 PM] => Murthy : Is there any good short-term bets that you want to pick?
[04:53:31 PM] => VB : Reliance and Satyam Computers.
[04:54:20 PM] => Hemant : How will the IOC decision impact GAIL?
[04:54:34 PM] => VB : GAIL will fall in the short-term and benefit in the long-term.
[04:55:18 PM] => Tushar : Are the pharma scrips properly valued?
[04:55:30 PM] => VB : At current valuations, pharma stocks are under valued.
[04:56:54 PM] => Hiren : Please suggest a couple of multibaggers?
[04:57:05 PM] => VB : Gujarat Gas, Neyveli Lignite Corp, ITI
[04:57:19 PM] => Sumit Madan : What could be the upper price limit for Polaris?
[04:58:43 PM] => VB : I would start booking profits at Rs 295 and above.
[05:03:36 PM] => Raju : Please recommend entry levels for e-serve, Hinduja TMT, geometric, Max India and D-Link
[05:04:12 PM] => VB : E -serve- Rs 580, Hinduja TMT - Rs 290, Geomertic - Rs 495-500, Max India - Rs 90, D-Link - Rs 65.
[05:08:16 PM] => joughosh100 : I have 200 Aptech shares at 83 .Since it has been delisted is there any hope of getting my money back .In Media sector is Mukta worth enough for atlest 70 pe rcent appritiation in the next 6-8 month.Regards.
[05:08:37 PM] => VB : Exit Aptech as and when you can. Mukta Arts being a film production company, is high risk high return investment. Their success depends on the hit of one movie. Your 75 per cent target seems to be over ambitious. Settle for 30 per cent.
[05:12:24 PM] => [email protected] : what is your prediction for today's state of affairs in equity-markets?
[05:12:43 PM] => VB : Barring the immediete volatality, fiscal 2002-03 is a turn around year for Indian equity markets.
[05:17:54 PM] => Joshi : What is your take on ONGC after IOCs equity divest plan? What upside you see in ONGC?
[05:18:07 PM] => VB : Keep a stop-loss of Rs 320, with an upside view upto Rs 410.
[05:22:16 PM] => Ayan : Mr. Bhambwani world over Small caps are put performing the big caps currently..and In our market it is the same trande only diffence is stock picking in small caps should be very prudent ..So which ones you suggest are great small caps to invest into currently as over all market is giving great investment opportunity.
[05:22:29 PM] => VB : Ucal Fuel Systems, Elgi Equipments
[05:36:17 PM] => Joshi : What is your take on IOC. Should I enter in IOC at current levels? After how long it may gain value?
[05:36:28 PM] => VB : Avoid IOC, till it doesnt break out above 205. In that event, your upside is Rs 235. Keep a stop-loss of Rs 192.
[05:37:01 PM] => bijuvgeorge : Will there be an Indo-Pak war?
[05:37:13 PM] => VB : I hope not.
[05:39:15 PM] => T D Joshi : From short term gain which scrip should I buy out of following: BPCL/ HPCL/ TELCO / ZEE? Is it wise to book profits in ICICI & ICICI Bank at current levels?
[05:39:29 PM] => VB : Zee is the most oversold counter of the above, and a bounce back may occur. Be nimble in bookng profits, buy above Rs 126. Stop/Loss Rs 118. Target Rs 140.
[05:40:24 PM] => Skumarvarma : If the present situation prevails in our country, what do U think of our share-markets etc.?
[05:40:40 PM] => VB : I expect FY2002-03 to be the turnaround year for the stock markets. Wait till Q3 or Q4 of the current fiscal.
[05:42:24 PM] => Amit : With the opening up of the future markets for commodities where would i get thenecessary expertise to invest in the same?
[05:42:36 PM] => VB : Savy traders identify their niche areas and hire others where their in-house expertise is lacking. Hire a commodity trader to work for you.
[05:43:16 PM] => parsarthy : Inspite of a drop in profits in RCF why is it zooming? we dont see it coming in the disinvestmnent
[05:43:30 PM] => VB : RCF is going up on rumours of divestment.
[05:44:51 PM] => makhiajan36 : What in ur opinion is the driving force behind the market...Economy - NIL, Finance minister - NIL, Results - NIL, Then WHAT !!!!!
[05:45:04 PM] => VB : Global turn around.
[05:45:43 PM] => Dasd : ONGC worth a buy !! any takes on its valuation ...disinvestment do you think?
[05:45:56 PM] => VB : If you havent bought already, why not Gujarat Gas instead.
[05:46:51 PM] => Viplav : Sir, do you think the surrent situstion on boder will adversely effect business, industry, considring our forces are on the border for 6 months now?
[05:47:04 PM] => : There will be a downward pressure on sentiments.
