[04:41:49 PM] => Myiris : Let's
begin the session friends, Mr Shah is with us : Welcome to
the chat session Mr Jigar Shah
[04:42:32 PM] => JS : Ya, thank you, let's start
[04:43:03 PM] => Vipulvora: How do you see economic slowdown? until what period do
you expect it to recover?
[04:44:03 PM] => JS: I see the economic
slowdown to continue till the current fiscal. Recovery would
be seen only when the industrial investment and credit pick
up become evident.
[04:44:29 PM] => Bmehta999: What growth fig for 02 for software?
[04:45:05 PM] => JS: It could be slightly lower than the forecast rate of 35 to 40
per cent.
[04:45:34 PM] => Supreetm: What
are the good counters to invest for short time?
[04:46:15 PM] => JS:
Select Pharma and Petroleum stocks. You can find specific
ideas by registering on our website.
[04:46:38 PM] => Shahupen: THIS IS A TIME FOR A TECH. SHARES BUYING ?
[04:47:22 PM] => JS: No, the scene is quite uncertain, though the valuations are
quite low.
[04:48:00 PM] => Jagdeepl: Should
I invest in L&T and Satyam at this stage?
[04:48:49 PM] => JS:
In L&T, you can take a chance at every decline.
[04:49:11 PM] => Ragh56: Do
u think the equity inflows will go down after the US attacks?
[04:49:36 PM] => JS: Yes, for a temporary
period, this seems likely.
[04:49:53 PM] => Nasdavg: Is
it a good time to invest in technology stocks?
[04:50:33 PM] => JS: No.
[04:51:08 PM] => Amitsinha:
Sir,after the blast in the US what do you think the Indian
economy will go?
[04:51:42 PM] => JS:
The Indian economy is relatively less co-related to the US
for its own growth than many other economies of the world.
It will continue to grow between 5.3 to 5.5 per cent in this
year.
[04:52:38 PM] => Jajoo: Earlier I was expecting the market to stabilize at 2750 -
80 range . I was expecting this in the first week of October
but now 2130 is a very high possibility. Your comments AND
WHY do U feel so?
[04:53:12 PM] => JS: The market has a strong support at 2702.
[04:54:01 PM] => Scorpiam: Where do you think the world economy will head after the
US blast?
[04:54:43 PM] => JS:
It is yet premature to say anything on this, as exact implications
are being worked out.
[04:55:23 PM] => Jaan: Your views on the FMCG sector - impact of good monsoon - Can
you sugest the top three picks stating the key growth parameter
for each?
[04:56:22 PM] => JS: I do not think any major growth will materialize even after
a good monsoon. It requires just more than a good monsoon
for the growth to re-emerge in FMCG. Good investment potential
lies in SmithKline Pharma, Britannia and Nestle as and when
things improve for their respective product segments and a
recovery in the overall economy.
[04:57:27 PM] => Blanche: Why
should the terrorist strike in the US actually affect us.
(So what if we r global) secondly a $ 20 bln spend by the
US on defence and rebuilding may just kick start the economy
- a contrarian view don't you think ?
[04:59:45 PM] => JS: You must not forget that Investor Psyche also plays a major
role in the market activity and hence we cannot say that we
are totally unaffected. Also, fund flows too depend on the
investor behaviour and thinking. This gets hampered. We will
get less impacted but cannot totally escape.
[05:01:43 PM] => Pooja: The Indian stock market was already down and after this attack
it's only going southwards.What's your prediction on the sensex
in the coming days to come
[05:02:30 PM] => JS:
Sensex prediction today is like predicting the outcome of
expected war !
[05:03:25 PM] => Zohair : Can
you suggest your top 3 shares to buy in this market?
[05:04:16 PM] => JS : Though one must resist the temptation to buy in uncertainties
my picks would be Cadila Health, Glenmark Pharma and Reliance
Petroleum.
[05:04:44 PM] => Zohair : Do you think that there will be a further decrease in interest
rates? Any good companies worth buying which offer good dividend
yield?
[05:05:02 PM] => JS
: Novartis and Sundram Fastener.
[05:05:40 PM] => Dharma : Which would be the favourite industries to take risk as
of now so as to generate higher yields....looking 5 months
scenario...?
[05:06:13 PM] => JS
: Pharma.(Domestic primarily)
[05:07:05 PM] => zohair : How long do you think it will take for the US to recover
from this crisis. Do you feel the US is heading for a recission?
How badly and which industries will this affect the most?
[05:07:41 PM] => JS : It is difficult
to exactly forecast the US recovery. The industries affected
include financial services, insurance mainly .
[05:08:31 PM] => Zohair : Which
Industries should one concentrate on? Do you think the tech
charm is gone or will tech shares also bounce back?
[05:09:23 PM] => JS : Tech shares
can bounce back as in terms of their fundamentals their values
are pathetic. However, it might take more time. The industries
to be concentrated are Pharma-Domestic, Power and Cement.
[05:10:30 PM] => Zohair : Where
do you think will the senxex bottom out? Do you think this
is a good time to accumulate good shares?
[05:11:17 PM] => JS
: Sensex has a strong support at 2700. It is good time provided
you have a long term view and are able to have money to buy
at any further possible fall.
[05:12:04 PM] => Ramesh : I
have taken 2 infosys in Rs. 6000/- but the value is less than
half. What cant I do? And also I have taken 100 reliance petro
Rs. 30.50. Is it safe for long term. Kindly advice
[05:13:18 PM] => JS
: Infy is an excellent company and would bounce back. Right
now all external factors for Infy are not good so, it will
take time. You must hold. Reliance Petro has very strong fundamentals
and it is quite safe.
[05:13:59 PM] => battingo :
KRC research team is very good. What is your view on small
cap stocks like Zicom and Jupiter Biosciences?
[05:14:27 PM] => JS : thanks for the
compliments. I have no view on Zicom or Jupiter.
[05:15:08 PM] => Sandy : What do you think will be the effect of the attack on US
in the markets?
[05:16:01 PM] => JS
: The effect is already seen in stock prices which have fallen
more than 10% in two days. However, economic impact may not
be so severe.
[05:17:25 PM] => Shankar: How
do you see the Infosys scrip in the coming month?
[05:18:21 PM] => JS : It could be under some pressure, purely on deteriorating market
sentiments.
[05:19:08 PM] => Sachid : Since,
US is the major trading partner of India, you don't find any
strong correlation, between US attack and Indian further slow
down?
[05:19:45 PM] => JS: Some areas like
Gems & Jewellery etc. could get affected for some time
period. We do not have a major dependence on them for anything
except software.
[05:20:37 PM] => Sachid: Is any Indian cement firm is exporting, cement to USA at
present?
[05:21:24 PM] => JS:
No,not in my knowledge.
[05:22:12 PM] => S mukherji : Do you think that the recent measures taken by the
GoI, will be effective to rev the econ outfrom the doldrums,
specially after the US attack?
[05:23:03 PM] => JS:
Can't say. The impact of GOI measures is yet to be seen in
actual numbers. These are two de-linked issues and one must
see them separately.
[05:23:29 PM] => Tinesh: Is
it right time to invest or to wait for few more days for long
term ?
[05:24:05 PM] => JS: It is subjective.
However, in my view one must wait for some more time and then
take actions if one is a very small investor.
[05:24:49 PM] => Dharma : which
would be the favorite industry to take risk as of now so as
to generate higher yields....looking 5 months scenario...?
[05:25:30 PM] => JS : Pharma- Domestic.
[05:25:52 PM] => purushenders:
Whirlpool, does it look good? and RPL?
[05:26:28 PM] => JS
: RPL looks quite good.
[05:27:19 PM] => Sachid : What is your opinion about the vacuum that has been created
[05:28:14 PM] => is
evident to come) due to huge loss of Human Resources (mainly
in Banking, Finance, Insurance business)after the US Attack?
Do u think it will create global vacuum also?
[05:28:45 PM] => JS: No.
[05:29:07 PM] => Jimmy : Suggest good scrips for investments?
[05:30:03 PM] => JS:
For strictly conservative long term investment one can look
at Cadila Health, Glenmark, Reliance Petroleum, Blue Dart
at current levels and declines.
[05:30:50 PM] => Blanched: you
did not answer my question do you feel that a $ 20 - 60 bln
spend by the US is sufficient to kick start their economy
( the money is being spent on defense and infrastructure I
presume)
[05:31:21 PM] => JS: It will only
revive their economy not ours. Also, when you have to spend
out of compulsion, it is not always doing development. Yet,
it will make some positive impact on their growth in the medium
to long run.
[05:31:57 PM] => ateet gupta:
What is the future of telecom shares like global tele,Hughes
tele and hfcl.
[05:32:36 PM] => JS: The future of Hughes is shaping out well.
[05:33:09 PM] => Investor: dear sir,the market being low which I think has already
hit the lowest in the recent times so it the time for picking
few valuable stocks and if then which one according to you?
[05:34:08 PM] => JS : Stocks that
can be accumulated with a very conservative and disciplined
outlook could be Cadila Health, Glenmark, Blue Dart, Reliance
Petroleum, ACC.
[05:34:52 PM] => Ravindra s : What are the chances of reviving market sentiments
[05:35:11 PM] => JS: Right now, less. Can't quantify.
[05:38:18 PM] => Sameer: Are we at the bottom?
[05:38:31 PM] => JS: Not quite.
[05:42:16 PM] => No name: If I was looking at a 3 month horizon would be it best
if I buy a 3 month index call option or should I buy a 3 month
stock option (any stock say reliance, mtnl, infy etc...)
[05:43:14 PM] => JS: A stock option would be better but not from the stocks you suggested.
[05:43:44 PM] => jayant : do
you suggest a buy at Rs 28 on this script(RPL)
[05:44:14 PM] => JS
: Yes, it appears very low.
[05:44:40 PM] => Jayant : what aboubt HLL
[05:45:04 PM] => JS : HLL is very
defensive stock . This year is not too good one for the company's
topline growth. One can look at it on declines from present
levels.
[05:47:23 PM] => Tushar patil : Will oil prices reach gulf war levels and what will
be the impact on the stock markets if they do?
[05:47:54 PM] => JS : Saudi has just announced that it will ensure the oil supplies
in any eventuality. Any more guesses on this at present could
be hazardous.
