u which is best and worse possible investment.
[04:40:38 PM] => VERNIKA: How
is out look for hcl technology ltd
[04:42:16 PM] => RKG:
At the current market price of around125 investment can be
considered for the trading purpose.
[04:45:04 PM] => ckmalde: What
is your perceptions for another 5 years on Indian economy
in general and ICICI ltd in particular?
[04:46:16 PM] => RKG:
By and large Indian economy is insulated form global turmoil
on account of various restrictions. Incidentally these restrictions
have come as blessing in disguise in the present volatile
global economic scenario. Therefore growth in the Indian Economy
is though slow but looking at the availability of resources
the present growth is sustainable provided we r able to check
the population growth.
[04:48:57 PM] => kamathyogi: I
have taken a 200 VSNL Shares from Broker so, every shareholder
have eligible?
[04:49:39 PM] => RKG:
though your Q is not complete but I think, u want to know
whether u will be entitled for the dividend of Rs 50 per share
announced by VSNL. If the shares r transferred in your account
u will be entitled to the dividend. In case u have purchased
these shares as cum dividend from the broker then u can claim
the dividend from the broker in case u have not recd the credit
of shares in your account before the record date.
[04:52:58 PM] => solanki: SHOULD
I HOLD PENTA MEDIA?
[04:53:18 PM] => RKG:
I think at the present rate it is not advisable to sell the
stock, though scrips are likely to be de-listed from the
Mumbai stock exchange for a short duration. U can sell the
stock when this embargo is lifted after some time.
[04:57:27 PM] => Prajas: Many
mutual funds in 1999-2000 were launching sectoral funds in
a big way. Now after the meltdown of ice stocks sectoral funds
seem to go out offavours of MFs and investors. Now every mf
is queuing to launch index funds.Is there a market of so many
index funds?
[04:57:43 PM] => RKG:
MF also launched the sectoral fund in 1999-2000 coz there
was a huge demand for such type of a funds. Now looking to
the present scenario after the intro of the index feature
demand for the index fund is rising. We do not foresee any
difficulty in mobilizing the money in the Index funds in the
near future.
[04:58:34 PM] => Anurag: Will
mutual funds do better than the market?
[04:59:03 PM] => RKG:
Tho MF particularly equity schemes, are the replica of stock
markets, but under normal circumstances MF are supposed to
do better than the markets.
[05:00:34 PM] => Sameer 56: How
safe is investing in Equity funds?
[05:00:51 PM] => RKG:
We have witnessed an interesting development, in the equity
funds normally large investments come when the NAV is high
and r facing redemption pressure when NAV is low. In actual
practice investor shld adopt the reverse pattern, therefore
looking to the present NAV of various equity schemes investment
can be considered for the medium term as NAV are at very attractive
level.
[05:03:11 PM] => Krishna N: Whats
your assessment of Taurus performance?
[05:03:33 PM] => RKG:
Performance of the TMF schemes is directly related to the
equity market. After the recent crash and the introduction
of rolling settlement we r in the process of restructuring
the portfolio along with hedging mechanism. We r sure that
in times to come the performance of various schemes to come
will improve further.
[05:05:01 PM] => Nikhil9: Is there
any new schemes in the offing from Taurus?
[05:05:16 PM] => RKG:
Recently TMF has launched Bond Fund and the Gilt Fund. Besides
these 2 new schemes TMF has introduced a new concept of safety
net in Libra LeapScheme. Through this concept we r ensuring
that there will not be any erosion of your capital and upside
movement in the NAV is your gain.
[05:07:11 PM] => Raghunandan:
Suppose I have with me Rs.100000/- to invest, How and where
do I invest, considering the volatile situation both in the
Stock and Bond Markets?
[05:07:30 PM] => RKG:
Looking at the present scenario ands considering that your
investment shall be for 6-8months time u can consider to invest
50% in equity 30% in bonds and the balance 20% in the gilt
schemes.
[05:09:19 PM] => Nisha Patil:

bound, between 2500-3200.
[05:12:48 PM] => Akhilesh: Your
views on Indian economy in the short -term?
[05:13:02 PM] => RKG:
In short term Indian Economy will remain under pressure, deficit
is likely to go up, expenditure will mount up. Indian rupee
will remain under pressure. Domestic market will continue
to be hard pressed on account of dumping from various South
Asian countries.
[05:16:31 PM] => Sunny Cherian:
In the short term in the Tech Sector, which is the best Strategy?
[05:17:13 PM] => RKG:
In the short term in the tech sector, The best strategy is
to trade in a particular stock instead of remain invested.
[05:17:44 PM] => Sawant S: Does
it make sense for an investor to invest in ELSS schemes? What
are the benefits vs other tax saving instruments?
[05:18:26 PM] => RKG:
As far as the tax benefits r concerned there is no difference
as far as ELSS schemes as well as other instruments. However,
the dividend in ELSS scheme is tax free, besides there is
a scope of capital appreciation which is not available in
any other tax saving instruments.
[05:20:42 PM] => Preethi G: Should
one invest in sector specific mutual fund schemes?
[05:20:59 PM] => RKG:
Based on our recent experience, It is advisable to remain
invested in diversified MF schemes, rather than sector specific
schemes.
[05:21:36 PM] => Ashok M: What
do you think are the strengths of Taurus MF?
[05:22:46 PM] => RKG:
TMF is an upcoming MF, and inspite of small corpus, returns
are comparable with other large funds. With the increase inflow
in the corpus TMF will be in a position to provide better
returns in comparison to the other larger players in this
field.
[05:23:20 PM] => Gujju89: Why
is that no fund manager was able to foresee a crash coming?
[05:23:38 PM] => RKG:
We as a fund manager, can foresee rise and fall in the market,
based on our various analysis,However the tragic events of
the century on sep11 2001 no fund manager cld foresee such
a situation.

have fallen more or stocks which have remained fairly stable?

in stocks which have fallen more.

be made now.
[05:28:27 PM] => Soprano: What
is your view on the interest rates 12-24 month period? Do
you expect a reversal in the trend?
[05:29:12 PM] => EKG:
We expect interest rates to remain at current levels, with
minor fluctuations not withstanding.
[05:30:32 PM] => Shirishj: Why
do all the mutual funds have such a herd mentality. They all
seem to be investing in the same group of well known stocks.
There seems to be very little original research going on in
India ???
[05:32:29 PM] => RKG:
For Mfs especially open ended funds, liquidity is of paramount
importance. This has become of overriding imp. After the intro
of compulsory ruling settlements. Very fewstocks meet the
criteria for liquidity leading to a limited range od securities.
[05:34:34 PM] => Balachanran
