[04:32:31 PM] => Myiris: Welcome to the chat session Mr. Rao.
[04:34:42 PM] => shaku_i : Can u suggest a good script for short term investment around Rs 50 ?
[04:49:20 PM] => SR : No comments
[04:49:32 PM] => dbijay : How do you view about ACC & Bajaj Hindustan scrips for short term
[04:49:47 PM] => SR : As cement prices are firming up, ACC should do well in the coming months.
[04:49:57 PM] => dbijay : Do you think UTI bank @ 40 is a good investment?
[04:50:25 PM] => SR : The upside for the stock is primarily from consolidation happening within the sector. There are more interesting banking stocks.
[04:50:44 PM] => dbijay : Do you think Henkel Spic is a good long term scrip @ 30?
[04:51:44 PM] => SR : It is better to stay away from the stock as the wait is going to be really as a) detergent segment growth has slowed down b) competition is intense
[04:51:57 PM] => dbijay : What is your view about steel shares like Ispat industries, Jindal etc
[04:52:42 PM] => SR : Steel prices are firming, which should be good for the sector, but one has to be careful as the prices have moved and came back very fast in the past.
[04:52:59 PM] => dbijay : Do you think Colgate is a good buy @ 150/-
[04:53:20 PM] => SR : No. It is not a great buy at these levels. One can wait for some time to see how they improve market share.
[04:53:36 PM] => catchsubodh : Is it wise to buy shares of D Link India ltd. at this moment of time when the IT market is down? How is the company?
[04:53:55 PM] => SR : D Link is into communication equipment sector, which is going thru one of worst phases globally. One has to cautious about investing into hardware companies, as they are competing directly with global majors like CISCO.
[04:54:33 PM] => tscshekar : Is recession over in the world? If over, will the growth last for next 15 or 20 years...if so will the Sensex touch 10,000?
[04:55:10 PM] => SR : About global recession, when it is ending, it is anybodys call. Coming to Indian markets, the economy will continue to grow, led by services sector and better performance from manufacturing and improved infrastructure. To make it simple, the economic activity in the country can only improve from these levels and the Sensex would reflect this growth.
[04:55:26 PM] => tirumal_rao : Your targets for Tata Telecom, e-Serve and best rates to buy?
[04:55:48 PM] => SR : Tata Telecom is trading 17xFY02 earnings and 13xFY03 estimates, our price target for Tata Telecom is Rs 210. For e-Serve our price target is Rs 700
[05:10:47 PM] => ayanad1 : Mr. Rao do you see one can invest now in some good tech. fund which mostly comprises of frontline tech counters...What is your view on frontline techs from current prices.
[05:11:05 PM] => SR : The frontline IT stock prices are factoring a growth of 25 30% in earning in FY03, which seems to be a tough task. Valuations wise HCL Tech and Satyam look attractive.
[05:11:17 PM] => bkm999 : Pritish,mukta,polaris,satyam,zeeand ahikari advice pls.
[05:11:35 PM] => SR : We are not bullish on the sector as it is still in a nascent stage and most of the companies are very small. We like Zee as it has integrated business model.
[05:11:48 PM] => rbhaumik0808 : Sir, could you suggest some mid cap stocks that look promising with a 12 months perspective?
[05:12:14 PM] => SR : In the mid cap segment, Container Corporation, Navneet Publications, Monsanto, Apollo Hospitals look promising.
[05:12:30 PM] => ag.ganapathy : Pls advice which are the best buys for medium term..
[05:12:50 PM] => SR : Monsanto, Navneet Publications, Apollo Hospitals, Cummins India.
[05:13:00 PM] => tirumal_rao : What are your top picks for the year ?
[05:13:25 PM] => SR : Our top picks are BHEL, Concor, ITC, Ranbaxy, Nestle and Smithkline Consumer.
[05:28:55 PM] => jineshsshah : How is the market going to be for a month?
[05:29:22 PM] => SR : Market turned negative as there were concerns about change in government and budget is yet to be passed by Parliament. Over the next few weeks as the clarity emerges, we expect market to improve as there is positive on economy.
[05:29:55 PM] => Ayan : Sir, what is your view on frontline techs specially Infosys, satyam, Wipro and HCL Tech? Do you see their prices to decline or moving up as we come close towards April 10, the day for infosys to announce next year guidance? I have all four of them as trading purpose what you suggest I do?
[05:30:20 PM] => SR : Market is expected a guidance of 30% growth for FY03 from Infosys, which we think is very unlikely, in the event we expect frontline stock prices to come down. But we are bearish on the sector as most of the front line companies are expected to bag huge orders.
[05:30:29 PM] => Ayan : Your views On SIEMENS and INDOGULF at current level? Strong buy, average or under performers in the short to medium term.
[05:30:41 PM] => SR : We are recommending strong buy on Siemens.
[05:30:52 PM] => Bagchi : What is the future of frontline line IT stocks, say 1 year down the line
[05:31:10 PM] => SR : The process of off shoring is irreversible and Indian IT companies have global competitive edge. So in the medium to long term IT sector and IT companies will do well.
[05:31:34 PM] => T D Joshi : I intend to invest in BPCL & HPCL for short to medium term gain. In view of dismantling of APM & Divestments, is it right to pickup these scrips at current levels. Please also advise what high levels these scrips are likely to go and in how much time.
[05:33:46 PM] => S R: You can pick up BPCL and HPCL at these levels as they easily give you 30% returns in the short term when divestment happens.
[05:33:52 PM] => Myiris : Thats the end of the chat session for today.
[05:34:01 PM] => Myiris : We thank you all for logging on.
[05:34:14 PM] => Myiris : Our thanks to Mr. Srinivas Rao for sparing time to come on the chat session.
