Can you tell us about `BIA Capital Advisors (P)` and its mission & services? What services do you offer?

BIA Capital Advisors (P) is a wealth management company consecrated to offering successful individuals and families personalized assistance in achieving their financial goals and living their own lives. Our offerings are focused on comprehensive wealth management solutions tailored for their present and future requirements.

Who should think about getting a financial advisor? Is it just for the wealthy or can anyone use the services of a financial advisor?

Financial advisor is must for the people who: want their financial affairs to be managed in systematic and disciplined way, want their goals to be achieved in an efficient and effective manner, and want to pursue their dreams without being monetarily constrained.

How does a financial advisor make his living and is there any conflict of interest between him and his customers?

Ideally, financial advisor`s main source of revenue should be professional fees. There won`t be any conflict of interest if he focuses on his services instead of financial products.

Has the no-load regime affected your business?

No. Right from the beginning, we have focused on fee-based financial planning.

How many fund houses do you deal with? Tell us your favorite all-time MF schemes.

We deal with 4-5 top fund houses based on performance consistency and portfolio quality. We admire HDFC, DSP BR, Reliance and Franklin India. Schemes that we like are HDFC Top 200, DSP BR equity, Franklin India growth, Reliance Growth etc. However, we choose the funds based on quantitative and qualitative parameters like standard deviation, alpha, beta, share, info & treynor ratios. We have our own software for the said analysis.

What`s been the most common reaction from your clients as the stock market has gone on a wild ride? Is there one particular type of investment you recommend that can weather these conditions?

Our investors are well informed about the equity market volatility and opportunities. Equity investment can deliver superior returns if done in fundamentally strong shares, at a right time and for medium to long term.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

At BIA Capital, we always endeavour to identify the driving levers of the financial markets, steered by in-depth analysis and core approach evolved through real time experience. We understand that our foremost responsibility is to efficiently manage the risk but at the same time fact remains that risk and reward go hand-in-hand. Hence, we invariably make sure that risks and reward are quantified and reward always outweighs the risks.
