Indian equities ended higher on Friday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 91.16 or 0.27% at 33,679.24 with 16 components registering rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty climbed by 40.95 or 0.40% at 10,389.70 with 28 components posting rise.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Infosys (1.87%), Bajaj Auto (1.07%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.05%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.99%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.91%), and ITC (0.85%).
On the other hand, State Bank Of India (0.79%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.74%), Hero Motocorp (0.66%), ICICI Bank (0.64%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (0.56%), and Tata Steel (0.49%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,401 advances against 1,136 declines.
RBL Bank topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 3,438.54 million. It was followed by Jai Corp (Rs. 1,300.27 million), Indiabulls Real Estate (Rs. 771.34 million) and Praj Industries (Rs. 530.13 million).
The volume chart was led by Jai Corp with trades of over 6.87 million shares. It was followed by RBL Bank (6.72 million), Suzlon Energy (5.71 million) and TV18 Broadcast (5.63 million).
