Indian equities continued to drop for the third day on Wednesday. At 9.39 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 87.20 points or 0.26% at 32,854.67 with 21 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 21.70 points or 0.21% at 10,164.90 with 32 components falling.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.26%), Tata Steel (2.14%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.95%), Coal India (1.38%), NTPC (1.27%), and Mahindra & Mahindra (1.25%).
On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro (1.09%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.68%), Tata Consultancy Services (0.65%), ICICI Bank (0.48%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.46%), and Tata Power Company (0.43%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 586 advances against 995 declines.
