Indian equities continued to trade higher for the second day on Tuesday led by metals, pharma and financial stocks.
BSE Midcap and Smallcap index rose 1.16% and 1.19% respectively.
At 11.15 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 385.43 points or 0.78% at 49,544.75. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 133.95 points or 0.92% at 14,771.75 with 45 components gaining.
Major gainers were Asian Paints (3.48%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (1.45%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.39%), Bharti Airtel (1.38%), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.38%).
On the other hand, Titan (0.37%) and UltraTech Cement (0.07%) were the only two losers in the Sensex pack.
Market breadth was positive with 1,788 advances against 795 declines.
