Indian markets continued to rally for the second day on Thursday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 483.53 or 1.54% at 31,863.08 with 16 components registering rise. While the broad based NSE Nifty closed 126.80 points higher at 9,313.90.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Kotak Mahindra Bank (8.59%), Tata Consultancy Services (5.97%), Infosys (5.67%), I C I C I Bank (4.97%), H C L Technologies (3.61%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.98%).
On the other hand, Yes Bank (4.39%), Hindustan Unilever (2.97%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (2.59%), NTPC (2.41%), Larsen & Toubro (1.41%), and Indusind Bank (1.32%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 1,331 advances against 824 declines.
Tata Consultancy Services topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 851.45 million. It was followed by Axis Bank (Rs. 570.25 million), Bharti Airtel (Rs. 249.31 million) and United Spirits (Rs. 185.99 million).
The volume chart was led by Reliance Communications with trades of over 9.26 million shares. It was followed by Moh (6.45 million), Arvind (3.30 million) and Axis Bank (1.33 million).
