Indian markets dropped on Monday erasing earlier gains. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading below 24-month low. At 12.08., the Sensex was trading down 1,871.73 points or 5.49% at 32,231.75 with 30 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 499.80 points or 5.02% at 9,455.40 with 48 components falling.On the other hand, Indusind Bank (15.37%), I C I C I Bank (8.96%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (8.39%), Axis Bank (8.16%), Tata Steel (7.90%), and Bajaj Finance (7.72%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 457 advances against 1,439 declines.
Vakrangee topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 33.45 million. It was followed by Vishwaraj Sugar Industries (Rs. 4.22 million), SBI ETF Gold - Growth (Rs. 1.95 million) and Bharat Agri Fert and Realty (Rs. 1.82 million).
The volume chart was led by Vakrangee with trades of over 0.99 million shares. It was followed by Reliance Naval and Engineering (0.51 million), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries (0.07 million) and Zee Media Corporation (0.05 million).
