Indian equities dropped on Tuesday erasing earlier gains. At 9.52 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 345.31 points or 0.95% at 35,868.07 with 28 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 117.70 points or 1.08% at 10,762.40.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Tata Motors (1.40%), NTPC (1.03%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.91%), Reliance Industries (0.90%), Tata Steel (0.76%), and ICICI Bank (0.70%).
On the other hand, Coal India (0.23%), and Asian Paints (0.02%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 385 advances against 996 declines.
Jet Infraventure topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1.09 million. It was followed by Investment & Precision Castings (Rs. 0.21 million), Vanta Bioscience (Rs. 0.17 million) and Maruti Infrastructure (Rs. 0.03 million).
