Indian equities continued to rise for the sixth day on Thursday ahead of the RBI's policy decision. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading above 4-month high.
At 9.41 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 134.66 points or 0.36% at 37,109.89 with 20 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 35.55 points or 0.32% at 11,098.00 with 34 components gaining.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.48%), Bajaj Auto (2.33%), Tata Motors (1.32%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.28%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.14%), and State Bank Of India (1.08%).
On the other hand, Tata Steel (0.51%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.49%), Wipro (0.35%), Bharti Airtel (0.24%), and Tata Power Company (0.14%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 742 advances against 522 declines.
