Indian equities ended higher on Wednesday snapping earlier losses. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 304.83 or 0.81% at 37,717.96. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 82.40 or 0.73% at 11,369.90.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Power Grid Corporation Of India (3.40%), ITC (3.11%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.98%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (2.96%), Tata Steel (2.23%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (2.09%).
On the other hand, Axis Bank (2.30%), Tata Motors (1.70%), Bharti Airtel (1.28%), ICICI Bank (1.07%), Coal India (0.53%), and Hero Motocorp (0.44%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
