Indian equities bounced back on Wednesday snapping earlier losses. At 9.49 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 66.48 points or 0.18% at 37,479.61 with 8 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 11.40 points or 0.10% at 11,276.10 with 41 components falling.
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Coal India (1.73%), Infosys (0.98%), Tata Power Company (0.88%), NTPC (0.77%), Asian Paints (0.72%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.59%).
On the other hand, Tata Motors (4.83%), Tata Steel (4.56%), Hero Motocorp (3.33%), ICICI Bank (3.12%), Bharti Airtel (3.08%), and Maruti Suzuki India (2.40%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 406 advances against 1,106 declines.
Eicher Motors topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 490.44 million. It was followed by I T C (Rs. 335.12 million), Axis Bank (Rs. 126.38 million) and Reliance Industries (Rs. 119.22 million).
The volume chart was led by RattanIndia Power with trades of over 1.85 million shares. It was followed by Lloyds Steels Industries (1.40 million), RattanIndia Infrastructure (1.26 million) and Jaiprakash Associates (1.26 million).
