Indian markets ended lower on Tuesday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 509.04 or 1.34% at 37,413.13. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went down by 150.60 or 1.32% at 11,287.50.

Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Tata Steel (3.46%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (3.21%), Hero Motocorp (3.06%), Tata Motors (3.03%),  ITC (2.92%) and Bharti Airtel.

On the other hand, NTPC (0.36%), Infosys (0.31%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.26%), and Asian Paints (0.26%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
