Indian markets bounced back on Friday snapping earlier losses. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading near 3-month high. At 9.31 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 71.34 points or 0.20% at 35,317.61 with 14 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 21.35 points or 0.20% at 10,737.90 with 25 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Asian Paints (4.73%), Larsen & Toubro (0.80%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (0.80%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (0.75%), Coal India (0.67%), and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.65%).
On the other hand, Bharti Airtel (5.39%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.73%), Bajaj Auto (0.81%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.61%), State Bank Of India (0.38%), and Tata Motors (0.33%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 645 advances against 592 declines.
PC Jeweller topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 470.86 million. It was followed by Prozone Intu Properties (Rs. 296.25 million), R*Shares Liquid BeES (Rs. 90.80 million) and Asian Paints (Rs. 77.38 million).
The volume chart was led by Prozone Intu Properties with trades of over 5.61 million shares. It was followed by Provogue (India) (5.42 million), PC Jeweller (2.10 million) and Dolat Investments (1.05 million).
