Indian rupee has gained against US dollar on Friday. Local currency rose 3 paise or 0.05 percent against dollar to trade at 64.57.
Rupee has witnessed a high of 64.55 and a low of 64.59. Its 52-week range was 63.93-68.86.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, fell 0.12 percent to trade at 97.48.
On Thursday, rupee has depreciated against US dollar. Local currency fell 7 paise or 0.11 percent against dollar to settle at 64.60.
Local stock markets continued to rise for the second day on Friday. At 9.15 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 28.02 points or 0.09% at 31,318.76 with 16 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 13.25 points or 0.14% at 9,643.25 with 25 components gaining.
