Indian rupee has weakened against US dollar on Friday. Local currency fell 9 paise or 0.14 percent against dollar to settle at 64.25.

Rupee has witnessed a high of 64.12 and a low of 64.38. Its 52-week range was 63.93-68.86.

The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, declined 1.96 percent to settle at 5.00.

Local stock markets ended lower on Friday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex lost 111.34 or 0.37% at 29,918.40 with 14 components registering drop. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty fell by 38.10 or 0.41% at 9,304.05 with 24 components posting drop.
