Indian rupee has depreciated against US dollar on Friday. Local currency declined 6 paise or 0.09 percent against dollar to trade at 64.21.
Rupee has witnessed a high of 64.12 and a low of 64.24. Its 52-week range was 63.93-68.86.
The Dollar index, a measure of the value of the US dollar relative to a basket of foreign currencies, rose 1.01 percent to trade at 9.00.
On Thursday, rupee has declined against US dollar. Local currency declined 4 paise or 0.06 percent against dollar to settle at 64.15.
Local stock markets continued to decline for the second day on Friday. The Nifty was trading near life time high. At 9.42 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 111.44 points or 0.37% at 29,918.30 with 16 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 33.60 points or 0.36% at 9,308.55.
