Jain Irrigation bags project worth Rs 5.69 bn in Karnataka

Jain Irrigation Systems has been awarded the Poorigali Integrated Micro Irrigation Project by Cauvery Neeravari Nigam, Government of Karnataka through National Competitive Bidding. The work order is for the project valued at Rs 5.69 billion is the largest micro irrigation project in India.

It is the unique project where 85% Water-Use Efficiency will be achieved and more than 15,000 farmers will be benefited from the project. The first project of its kind is based on the concept of ''Resource to Root''. The project will be implemented in 18 months time.

Shares of the company declined Rs 1.5, or 1.32%, to trade at Rs 112.40. The total volume of shares traded was 1,141,224 at the BSE (12.48 p.m., Friday).
