Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 5.43 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on March 24, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 53.51 billion and sold equities worth Rs 48.08 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 1.16 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 29.03 billion and sold equities worth Rs 27.86 billion.
Local stock markets ended higher on Friday. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex gained 89.24 or 0.30% at 29,421.40 with 13 components registering rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 21.70 or 0.24% at 9,108.00 with 24 components registering rise.
