Indian equities continued to rally for the second day on Friday. At 10.26 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 143.39 points or 0.49% at 29,475.55 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 37.10 points or 0.41% at 9,123.40 with 35 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were ICICI Bank (2.64%), State Bank Of India (1.90%), ITC (1.42%), Axis Bank (1.20%), Bharti Airtel (1.09%), and Asian Paints (0.87%).
On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.44%), Tata Motors (0.43%), Tata Consultancy Services (0.38%), NTPC (0.27%), Infosys (0.25%), and Cipla (0.15%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was positive with 1,310 advances against 660 declines.
Reliance Power topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 2,908.55 million. It was followed by Balkrishna Industries (Rs. 2,677.67 million), Indiabulls Housing Finance (Rs. 1,926.65 million) and SREI Infrastructure Finance (Rs. 1,034.60 million).
The volume chart was led by Reliance Power with trades of over 60.22 million shares. It was followed by SREI Infrastructure Finance (11.74 million), Spicejet (6.43 million) and Pressman Advertising (5.59 million).
