Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 10.94 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on March 23, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 59.79 billion and sold equities worth Rs 48.85 billion.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 5.90 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 24.49 billion and sold equities worth Rs 30.40 billion
Local stock markets ended higher on Thursday snapping earlier losses. At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex added 164.48 or 0.56% at 29,332.16 with 24 components posting rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 55.85 or 0.62% at 9,086.30 with 42 components registering rise.
