JSW Energy witnessed a rise in share price on Thursday after it has posted a rise of 54.41% in net profit for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2015, led by Rs 1.50 billion compensation received by Himachal Baspa Power Company (HBPCL) that became 100 percent subsidiary of the company from September 8.
During the quarter, the company posted a net profit of Rs. 4.92 billion as compared to Rs. 3.19 billion for the corresponding quarter last year.
Total Income increased by 12.44% to Rs. 25.31 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2015 from Rs. 22.51 million in the same quarter a year ago.
Shares of JSW Energy are trading at Rs 88.65, up Rs 0.8, or 0.91% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday at 9:48 a.m.
Total volume of shares traded on the bourses today was lower by 79.89% to 661,086 compared with 22-day average volume of 3,287,685.
