Marico, one of India's leading consumer products companies, disclosed a good increase in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 2015. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 23.95% to Rs 1,100.35 million from Rs 887.71 million in the same quarter last year.

Net sales for the quarter rose 14.73% to Rs 12,450.15 million, compared with Rs 10,852 million for the prior year period.

Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 1.70, registering 23.19% growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 1.25, or 0.31%, to settle at Rs 401.35. The total volume of shares traded was 89,576 at the BSE (Thursday).
