Exide Industries said a small rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2014. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 6.01% to Rs 1,257.60 million from Rs 1,186.30 million in the same quarter previous year.
Net sales for the quarter rose 23.13% to Rs 17,633.40 million, compared with Rs 14,321 million for the prior year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 1.48, registering 5.71% growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company declined Rs 5.95, or 3.61%, to settle at Rs 158.80. The total volume of shares traded was 535,303 at the BSE (Monday).
