Asian stock markets settled higher on Monday. Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 jumped 578.72 points or 3.98 percent to settle at 15,111.23.

While China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite went up 15.54 points or 0.66 percent to close at 2,356.73. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 47.05 points or 0.2 percent to end at 23,070.26.

Singapore's Straits Times gained 13.32 points or 0.42 percent to end at 3,181.05. South Korea's KOSPI went up 29.40 points or 1.55 percent to end at 1,930.06. Taiwan's TAIEX rose 150.26 points or 1.77 percent to end at 8,663.14.
