ITC said that the company issued and allotted 68,16,630 ordinary shares of Rs 1 each. This is upon exercise of 6,81,663 options by optionees under the company's Employee Stock Option Schemes (ESOS).

Consequently, the issued and subscribed share capital of the company stands increased to Rs 797,42,55,211 divided into 797,42,55,211 ordinary shares of Rs 1 each, with effect from Sept. 16, 2014.

ITC is an Indian conglomerate headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal. Its diversified business includes five segments viz., fast moving consumer goods, hotels, paperboards & packaging, agri business & information technology.

Shares of the company declined Rs 1.95, or 0.54%, to trade at Rs 356.65. The total volume of shares traded was 86,512 at the BSE (2.43 p.m., Friday).
