Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) announced that the company has been appointed A. N. Roy as part-time non-official director on the board of the company.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till Aug. 27, 2014, falling 17.00% compared with the Sensex's 1.66% rise.
It underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 5.09% as against 8.19% rise in the Sensex.
Shares of the company gained Rs 9.4, or 4.1%, to trade at Rs 238.60. The total volume of shares traded was 959,016 at the BSE (3.33 p.m., Thursday).
