Ajanta Pharma said a sharp rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended June 2014. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 80.45% to Rs 587.20 million from Rs 325.40 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose 31.76% to Rs 2,874.90 million, compared with Rs 2,182 million for the prior year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 16.58, registering 79.44% growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 27.45, or 1.58%, to trade at Rs 1,767.95. The total volume of shares traded was 26,339 at the BSE (12.54 p.m., Tuesday).
