Cummins India announced a good increase in standalone net profit for the quarter ended June 2014. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 27.56% to Rs 2,119.90 million. The company has reported profit of Rs 1,661.90 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter declined marginally 0.40% to Rs 10,451.40 million, compared with Rs 10,493.30 million for the prior year period. Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 7.65, registering 27.50% growth over previous year period.
Cummins India, is the leading manufacturer of diesel and natural gas engines is one of the eight legal entities of the Cummins Group in India. Comprising of four business units - industrial engine, power generation, distribution, and automotive, Cummins India is also the largest entity of the Cummins Group in India.

Shares of the company declined Rs 18.4, or 2.95%, to settle at Rs 606.15. The total volume of shares traded was 208,520 at the BSE (Friday).
