JSW Energy clarified on news item appearing in the media titled "JSW set to buy Lanco project in top thermal deal."

"JSW Energy continues to evaluate various opportunities as part of its growth strategy. However, we are not in any conclusive discussions for any particular project. Whenever any proposal attains finality, the company will comply with the provisions of the listing agreement and make requisite disclosures accordingly," the company said.

Shares of the company declined Rs 1.10, or 1.29%, to trade at Rs 84 at the BSE (2.48 p.m., Thursday).
