The international crude oil price of Indian basket gained 1.30% to USD 52.98 a barrel (bbl) on May 22, 2017 as against USD 52.30 a bbl on May 19, 2017.

In rupee terms, the price of Indian basket increased to Rs 3,420.57 a bbl on May 22, 2017 as compared to Rs 3,399 a bbl on May 19, 2017.

Rupee closed stronger at Rs. 64.56 per USD on May 22, 2017 as against Rs. 64.99 per USD on May 19, 2017.

Local stock markets dropped on Tuesday erasing earlier gains. At 11.09 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 149.88 points or 0.49% at 30,421.09 with 18 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 44.25 points or 0.47% at 9,394.00 with 37 components falling.
