US stock markets closed higher on Tuesday, as higher oil prices and a record reading on US consumer confidence boosted sentiment.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 150.52 points or 0.73 percent to settle at 20,701.50. NASDAQ 100 index gained 32.94 points or 0.61 percent to close at 5,407.21. The broader S&P 500 index went up 16.98 points or 0.73 percent to end at 2,358.57.
