US stock markets settled higher on Tuesday as energy capped gains, while investors focused on a slew of corporate earnings reports.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 37.87 points or 0.19 percent to settle at 20,090.29. NASDAQ 100 index rose 17.91 points or 0.35 percent to close at 5,185.88. The broader S&P 500 index rose 0.52 points or 0.02 percent to end at 2,293.08.
