Indian equities continued to fall for the second day on Friday. At 9.35 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 430.69 points or 1.30% at 32,575.58 with 30 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 136.15 points or 1.35% at 9,978.60.
All shares in the Sensex settled with losses. Tata Steel (3.47%), ICICI Bank (3.02%), Wipro (2.76%), State Bank Of India (2.69%), Axis Bank (2.23%), and Bajaj Auto (1.96%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 136 advances against 1,490 declines.
Piramal Enterprises topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 595.56 million. It was followed by Axis Bank (Rs. 379.74 million), Hero Motocorp (Rs. 208.38 million) and Tata Steel (Rs. 82.51 million).
The volume chart was led by Reliance Communications with trades of over 2.05 million shares. It was followed by Jaiprakash Associates (1.56 million), Hindustan Construction Company (1.38 million) and Essar Shipping (0.97 million).
