Indian equities continued to gain for the fourth day on Wednesday. At 10.00 a.m, the Sensex was trading up 194.77 points or 0.55% at 35,357.25 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 54.55 points or 0.52% at 10,639.30 with 26 components gaining.
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Infosys (2.89%), Coal India (1.77%), Hero Motocorp (1.58%), ITC (1.50%), Hindustan Unilever (1.21%), and HDFC Bank (0.86%).
On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.82%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (0.77%), Tata Motors (0.54%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.48%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.41%), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.22%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 900 advances against 701 declines.
Indiabulls Housing Finance topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 507.39 million. It was followed by Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (Rs. 400.12 million), Gujarat Fluorochemicals (Rs. 312.41 million) and Indusind Bank (Rs. 284.10 million).
The volume chart was led by Jaiprakash Associates with trades of over 4.38 million shares. It was followed by South Indian Bank , The (3.02 million), Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (1.66 million) and Reliance Communications (1.36 million).
