Indian equities continued to decline for the fourth day on Monday. At 9.58 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 37.54 points or 0.11% at 33,138.46 with 19 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 35.90 points or 0.35% at 10,159.25.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Coal India (2.57%), Asian Paints (2.19%), Tata Steel (1.52%), Hero Motocorp (1.44%), Bajaj Auto (1.43%), and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (1.35%).
On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro (1.55%), Hindustan Unilever (1.12%), Maruti Suzuki India (0.92%), Power Grid Corporation Of India (0.29%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (0.19%) were the biggest gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 580 advances against 1,106 declines.
IDBI Bank topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 136.13 million. It was followed by Housing Development Finance Corporation (Rs. 96.26 million), Infosys (Rs. 95.26 million) and Tata Steel (Rs. 75.89 million).
The volume chart was led by IDBI Bank with trades of over 1.71 million shares. It was followed by Himachal Futuristic Communications (0.75 million), Steel Authority Of India (0.63 million) and Sintex Industries (0.46 million).
