Indian markets continued to fall for the fourth day on Monday. The Nifty was trading below 1-month low. At 10.56 a.m, the Sensex was trading down 76.19 points or 0.22% at 34,772.11 with 20 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 37.15 points or 0.35% at 10,559.25 with 34 components falling.
Biggest losers in the 30-share index were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.10%), Dr Reddy'S Laboratories (1.86%), Hero Motocorp (1.74%), Tata Steel (1.45%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.37%), and Maruti Suzuki India (1.32%).
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services (2.20%), ICICI Bank (1.71%), Coal India (1.60%), Bharti Airtel (1.59%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.30%), and State Bank Of India (0.94%) were the major gainers in the Sensex.
Market breadth was negative with 600 advances against 1,333 declines.
Ashok Leyland topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 836.98 million. It was followed by Century Textiles & Industries (Rs. 236.15 million), Tata Steel (Rs. 127.35 million) and Spicejet (Rs. 94.64 million).
The volume chart was led by Ashok Leyland with trades of over 6.14 million shares. It was followed by IDBI Bank (1.15 million), Spicejet (0.97 million) and Balrampur Chini Mills (0.65 million).
