FIIs net sellers worth Rs 3.21 bn; DIIs net buyers worth Rs 12.62 bn

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the equity segment worth Rs 3.21 billion on both BSE, NSE and MCX-SX on May 22, as per provisional data available at the BSE. They bought equities worth Rs 41.37 billion and sold equities worth Rs 44.58 billion.

On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs), which include banks, DFIs, insurance and MFs, were net buyers in the equity segment worth Rs 12.62 billion. They bought equities worth Rs 36.53 billion and sold equities worth Rs 23.90 billion.

Local stock markets ended higher on Monday.  At the close, the benchmark 30-share index, BSE Sensex gained 106.05 or 0.35% at 30,570.97 with 10 components registering rise. Meanwhile, the broad based NSE Nifty went up by 10.35 or 0.11% at 9,438.25 with 12 components posting rise.
