European stock markets are trading lower on Monday, though a rise among basic resources stocks helped Britain's FTSE 100 index hit a fresh record high.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 fell 15.23 points or 0.46 percent to trade at 3,305.94. Germany's benchmark index DAX declined 54.52 points or 0.47 percent to trade at 11,544.49. French benchmark index CAC 40 declined 30.10 points or 0.61 percent to trade at 4,879.74.
On the other hand, UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 went up 20.69 points or 0.29 percent to trade at 7,230.74.
