European stock markets are trading higher on Wednesday as Britain was set to formally trigger divorce proceedings with the European Union it joined in 1973.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 gained 17.42 points or 0.5 percent to trade at 3,482.49. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 rose 12.35 points or 0.17 percent to trade at 7,355.77.
Meanwhile, Germany's benchmark index DAX rose 78.85 points or 0.65 percent to trade at 12,228.27. French benchmark index CAC 40 went up 23.54 points or 0.47 percent to trade at 5,069.74.
On Tuesday, European stock markets settled higher. Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 gained 27.93 points or 0.81 percent to settle at 3,465.07. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 rose 49.92 points or 0.68 percent to close at 7,343.42.
