European stock markets settled slightly lower on Monday after pro-European Union candidate Emmanuel Macron secured a comfortable victory to become the next president of France.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 fell 16.68 points or 0.46 percent to settle at 3,642.11. Germany's benchmark index DAX declined 22.34 points or 0.18 percent to end at 12,694.55. French benchmark index CAC 40 fell 49.45 points or 0.91 percent to end at 5,382.95.
On the other hand, UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 went up 3.43 points or 0.05 percent to close at 7,300.86.
