European stock markets settled lower on Monday. Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 fell 3.70 points or 0.10 percent to settle at 3,559.59. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 went down 33.23 points or 0.46 percent to close at 7,203.94.

Germany's benchmark index DAX declined 5.78 points or 0.05 percent to end at 12,438.01. French benchmark index CAC 40 fell 4.37 points or 0.08 percent to end at 5,267.33.
