European stock markets closed lower on Friday, after strong gains earlier this week, with investors digesting corporate earnings and fluctuations in currency markets.
Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 lost 15.80 points or 0.48 percent to settle at 3,303.33. Germany's benchmark index DAX declined 34.36 points or 0.29 percent to end at 11,814.27. French benchmark index CAC 40 declined 27.26 points or 0.56 percent to end at 4,839.98.
On the other hand, UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 rose 23.00 points or 0.32 percent to close at 7,184.49.
