European stock markets settled slightly higher on Tuesday after being supported by stabilizing commodity prices.

Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 rose 6.97 points or 0.19 percent to settle at 3,649.08. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 went up 41.35 points or 0.57 percent to close at 7,342.21.

Germany's benchmark index DAX gained 54.57 points or 0.43 percent to end at 12,749.12. French benchmark index CAC 40 rose 15.06 points or 0.28 percent to end at 5,398.01.
