Asian stock markets are trading mixed on Tuesday, in thin trade and with little to guide them as most major markets were closed on Monday for Christmas holidays, while the dollar reclaimed some of its losses from Monday.
China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite fell 7.01 points or 0.22 percent to trade at 3,115.56. Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 61.44 points or 0.28 percent to trade at 21,574.76. Singapore's Straits Times fell 6.85 points or 0.24 percent to trade at 2,864.20.
On the other hand, South Korea's KOSPI rose 3.40 points or 0.17 percent to trade at 2,041.15. Taiwan's TAIEX gained 5.43 points or 0.06 percent to trade at 9,115.97.
