Asian stock markets are trading mixed on Tuesday as investors await the Bank of Japan's monetary policy decision.

Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 fell 4.75 points or 0.02 percent to trade at 19,386.85. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite lost 11.67 points or 0.37 percent to trade at 3,106.42.  Taiwan's TAIEX lost 21.58 points or 0.23 percent to trade at 9,217.74.

On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 19.91 points or 0.09 percent to trade at 21,852.59. Singapore's Straits Times went up 10.49 points or 0.36 percent to trade at 2,923.57. South Korea's KOSPI rose 3.97 points or 0.19 percent to trade at 2,042.36.
