Asian stock markets are trading lower on Monday as a renewed drop in sovereign bond yields on political concerns prompted some investors to move to the sidelines after a recent rally.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 declined 223.35 points or 1.16 percent to trade at 19,060.19. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite fell 4.24 points or 0.13 percent to trade at 3,249.19. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 92.34 points or 0.39 percent to trade at 24,058.04.
Singapore's Straits Times fell 7.94 points or 0.25 percent to trade at 3,109.09. South Korea's KOSPI fell 4.47 points or 0.21 percent to trade at 2,089.65. Taiwan's TAIEX declined 18.84 points or 0.19 percent to trade at 9,750.47.
