Asian stock markets are trading higher on Monday as trading began in a busy week that includes a meeting between China President Xi Jinping and Donald Trump and culminates in the monthly U.S. jobs report.
Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 went up 67.25 points or 0.36 percent to trade at 18,976.51. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite gained 12.28 points or 0.38 percent to trade at 3,222.51. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 131.85 points or 0.55 percent to trade at 24,243.44.
Singapore's Straits Times gained 10.37 points or 0.33 percent to trade at 3,185.48. South Korea's KOSPI went up 5.63 points or 0.26 percent to trade at 2,165.86.
On the other hand, Taiwan's TAIEX declined 36.63 points or 0.37 percent to trade at 9,811.52.
